The Daum Museum opened January, 2002. Located on the Campus of State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri, the Daum Museum is conveniently located in the heart of the United States. The permanent collection features abstract paintings, drawings, prints, works in clay and sculpture created since the mid-20th century. Sedalia is a town of 20,000 and features many other attractions including the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival, the Missouri State Fair, the Katy Trail (hiking, biking) and is the gateway to the popular Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Lake recreational area. Sedalia has overnight accommodations including bed and breakfast, a historic hotel and several national chains.
